BJC Fashion 2019
Invitational at the Maryland Historical Society and the Baltimore Jewelry Center.
Jewelry inspired but a historical dress form the collection.
The decorative roses that are part of a red dress in the MHS collection inspire my piece. It is constructed using computer-aided design from a combination of a 3D scan and CAD modeling of an actual rose. All elements are made out of clear thin (1/32in) laser-cut acrylic that is slotted or stacked to become 3 dimensional. The three different components are mounted on mirrored acrylic, reflecting in all directions to create a similar effect as the original where the ‘jewel’ is part of the dress.
This was presented in a fashion show at the Maryland Historical Society.
