"For the exhibition, Toporski presents works that feature the ancient sources that recur in her body of work — Sumerian amulets, fertility symbols, shards, skulls — alongside her exhaustive investigations into materials (in this case silicone, porcelain, concrete, metals, and silk). These works bridge the gulf between the Old World and the New, both of which continue to inform the artist and her practice."
