The central portrait is an image of my 40 something year old self and my grandmother superimposed. When she was that age in 1946 she returned to their hometown to check on their affairs. undertook a harrowing train journey from the village near Hannover where they were refugees back to the hometown they fled to escape the Russian occupation.
