What do we see?
A square brooch that comprises a shimmery image of the North Sea that reminds me of a reality in my past. Maybe it reminds you, the person looking at it, of a reality in yours? But what we see is only a faint image, 3D printed as a Lithophane, the mirror behind it contributing to its surreal atmosphere. The brooch acts merely as a token, like a memory, a postcard of sorts. Does the space behind the image offer a different perspective, access to something beyond, knowledge that we would otherwise be denied? What do we long for?
